Calling All Giving Hearts for Valentine’s Day!

Please join Moore Law for Children and Council on Aging Southern California to create handmade Valentine’s Day cards for seniors in long term care.

Mother Teresa said: “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples.” In 2020, I decided to make a positive impact in our community, even if small. The goal was to create many ripples to make a wave of change. Each month my team and I invited the community to join us in different community service projects.

In February of 2021, inspired by Valentine’s Day, I wanted to touch the lives of one of our most vulnerable populations with some heartfelt, handmade love. With the help of the community – including scouts, students, other law firms, and community members – we collected over 1,000 handmade Valentine’s Day cards for seniors!

Last year we doubled that with over 2,000 cards! This year our goal is 3,000.

Approximately 28,000 elderly and disabled adults live in 1,100 long-term care facilities in Orange County. Approximately 50%, or 14,000 have no friend or family member actively involved in their care.

Please join us in our Valentine’s Day card project this year to make an impact and let these lonely seniors know they are valued, loved, and not forgotten.

So, get out those art and craft supplies. They must be delivered to our office or Council on Aging by February 6, 2023 to ensure they can be delivered on time for Valentine’s Day.

Instructions:
1. Fold paper in half to make a card.

2. Design the front – No need to be artistic or creative, we have lots of great ideas for you. See the attached.

3. Write a Valentine’s Day message on the inside.

4. Do not sign the cards because that can confuse the seniors if they get a card from someone the don’t know.

5. No envelopes needed.

6. Deliver cards by February 6, 2023 to:
