Kristina Russo

Education

Kristina Russo graduated with honors from Boston University, where she was a member of the Golden Key National Honour Society. She went on to earn her master’s degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology from Boston College. During both college and graduate school, Kristina worked as a behavior interventionist with children with special needs, gaining early, hands-on experience in the field of education.

After relocating to San Diego, Kristina earned her law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she focused on special education law and advocacy.

Career

Following law school, Kristina practiced as a special education and student services attorney, representing school districts and colleges in a variety of education-related matters, helping to ensure that the districts provided students with the services and accommodations necessary for their success.

Recognizing that her true passion lies in working directly on behalf of students, Kristina transitioned back into the educational setting, serving in the classroom to provide academic and social support. She worked collaboratively with teachers, behavior specialists, and other service providers, contributing to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to meet each student’s unique needs.

In addition to her academic and legal background, Kristina brings meaningful Title IX experience, having worked in both K–12 and university settings, with a focus on compliance and student support. Kristina has also provided direct support to students and families involved in Title IX processes, helping them access the resources they need.
