Education
Born and raised in California, Brian Sciacca began his academic journey at Golden West College, where he competed for the State Champion Water Polo and Swimming Teams. He transferred to California State University Dominguez Hills where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in December 1999. His passion for law led him to the prestigious Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California. In May 2004, he earned his Juris Doctor, achieving honors grades in Special Education and Disability Law, Local Government Law, and Corporations.
Experience
Brian’s first experience in special education came in the classroom at Laguna Beach High School, where he served as a paraprofessional in the resource specialist program. While in law school, Brian served as a law clerk for the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Office of the General Counsel. After graduating, Brian worked for one of the largest education law firms in the state, advising school districts and county offices of education about their obligations under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Brian began representing children with disabilities and their families in special education and student discipline matters in 2009. Since then, he has attended countless IEP team meetings and mediation conferences on behalf of students and litigated special education matters before the California Office of Administrative Hearings, the United States District Court, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He recently returned to Laguna Beach High School as the founding attorney coach of the student Mock Trial team.

Brian’s dedication lies in advocating for students with disabilities and their families. Through his legal expertise, he represents them in special education, civil rights, and student discipline cases across California. Brian also has experience conducting unbiased investigations into allegations of discrimination and harassment on campuses and workplaces. His contributions include actively advising school districts on special education law and guiding school administrators on inclusive practices. His profound commitment reflects his belief in a discrimination-free educational environment for every student.
